For Shibari Study afternoon, I spent some time doing upline drills from Shibari Study. I have mastered the clove hitch, formed by creating two opposite half-hitches. If you do it the wrong way, you get two half hitches in the same direction which doesn’t form a clove hitch. If you do the right way, you get a clove hitch.
Then Mark showed up, and we had our first Shibari Study session. Mark and I spent some time doing self-tying.
We reviewed the upper body harness from Shay Tiziano’s book Tying & Flying, including a simple ‘breast’ harness created using a Lark’s head single column and how to attach a carabiner into a W formed by your upline (which you will see in the extra credit section of the beginner material—so if you’re a beginner, you aren’t very far off from being able to do a simple chest harness on yourself).
