Windy City Knots is a free-form rope school and social club in Chicago.
We work with some of the other rope groups in town to help build a community of ropers in the Windy City.
Although our Shibari is tight, we have a loose structure: Beginner students have monthly opportunities to start in the Beginner Class. Once you know the basics, you can move on to different offerings in the Intermediate and Advanced sections.
Some of the advanced riggers get together to practice suspension too.
Beginner Class- Perfect for beginners who have no experience with rope. Before your first class, you’ll want to look over the Beginner Study page and also the posts in the Basics category. Bunnies not needed but welcome to come learn or watch.
Intermediate Class– Structured class for intermediate-level students. Bunnies welcome.
Rope Lab– Skillshare opportunity for intermediate students to practice together, teach & learn. Bunnies welcome.
Rope Jam– Open play/practice time with a festive mood. Drop in anytime; bunnies welcome.
Shibari Study Afternoon– We get together and watch Shibari Study. Bunnies welcome & often needed.
Suspension Sunday– A time for practicing suspensions.

Windy City Knots is looking for anyone in the Chicago rope community who would like to host a ropelab or class. This is generally pretty easy. Free-form ropelabs just require floor space to accomodate 8-10 people. Carpets or mats are preferred over hardwood floors. If you would like to host a Windy City Knots or use the email list to invite WCK members to a rope event in Chicago, please reach out to Dash, TickledKink, or Prof. Cardigan.
